"Canvas of queens - A Drag Art Odyssey!"

Gold Coast Pride is thrilled to announce our partnership with celebrity artist Anita Never and her "Canvas of Queens" art exhibit and documentary.

We are excited to announce our partnership with artist Anita Nevar and her project “Canvas of Queens - A Drag Art Odyssey''. This is an art exhibit and social impact documentary that will follow Anita as she creates captivating artworks of drag artists from Australia and the US, to be showcased in July at RuPaul’s Drag Con in LA, and later in the year at a major art show in Brisbane (to be announced!).

Anita and her documentary team will be at Gold Coast Pride Fair Day in June to capture our wonderful community event, with a spotlight on our reigning Drag Pageant winner Eva Mendoza and her jjourney from contestant in 2023 to judge and headliner performer in 2024. The documentary will amplify the voices of our community, and showcase the power and beauty of drag as an art form.

The partnership with Anita Nevar will not only showcase our 2024 festival, it will actively support Gold Coast Pride through fundraising efforts, and by contributing to our invaluable mission not only this year, but in the years to come.

The mission of this project is to foster a more loving, accepting, and inclusive society, and impact lives by counteracting the hate-fuelled extremism that has been directed toward our community of late. Together, we can showcase our impactful community work, amplify diverse voices, and spread love.
